In 1999, Claudio Manera, director and oenologist, led to the purchase one of the jewels of the Monferrato area, Il Cascinone. During the year 2002, an ambitious series of projects completed the restoration and expansion of the vineyard. In 2004, the restoration of the cellar was completed and for the first time the vinification took place at the estate.

The grapes for the Rive are hand-picked, destemmed and crushed and then inoculated with selected yeasts. The must is then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats with pump-over four times a day. The wine is pressed just before dryness and then racked into French oak barriques, two-thirds new and one-third second use, in order to undergoes malolactic fermentation.
