Despite the name, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is in no way linked with the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. The Tuscan wine is named after the town, while Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is named after the varietal. The Montepulciano variety originated in the Valle Peligna in the Abruzzi, and was developed through selection by growers. It displays significant capacity for adaptation to different environments, resulting in its cultivation in nearby territories.Capostrano line is named after the small village of Capestrano located in the heart of the Abruzzo region, at the foot of the Gran Sasso

Vinification
Skins maceration lasts 12 days in order to enhance phenolic extraction, tannins and fruit aromas; alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel vats

Aging Process
8 months in stainless steel plus 2 months in the bottle before the release

Tasting Notes
Color: Deep ruby red color, little transparency
Bouquet: Intense, clean and pleasing aromas of black cherry, blueberry, plum, carob and violet followed by pleasing aromas of walnut-husk
Flavor: Good balance, agreeable tannins, good body and intense flavors
Pairings: Flavorful pastas, pizzas, cheeses, grills and roasts

Alcohol Content: 13 %
