Sauvignon Blanc

In the northern part of our Sonoma Valley sits the tiny village of Kenwood, home to world class vineyards and industry pioneers. One particular vineyard of note is MacLeod Family Vineyards located at the foot of Sonoma Mountain, just west of State Route Highway 12. After a few years of vineyard experimentation, we have found a single source that supports the expression and character we believe in. e arrangement for this wine is simple; a single vineyard source, straightforward winemaking protocols but with a few twists.

The winemaking team called for two separate picks this year; an early pick to ensure proper acid levels and to prevent overipeness and second pick with slightly higher brix to achieve fullness and mouthfeel. While the wine was predominantly fermented and aged in stainless steel, we set aside a small lot for barrel fermentation and barrel aging, all neutral. e result is a wine exhibiting vibrant flavors of melon, guava and apricot shine with an exquisite, bright finish. Vineyard selection here shows why Sonoma Sauvignon Blanc can be so rewarding.

This is Sauvignon Blanc country, where this varietal expresses very unique qualities. The MacLeods are a legendary Kenwood family and dedicated to growing the best their land can bare and we are fortunate to have them as growers.
