Von Strasser
Sori Bricco Vineyard Red Wine
Sori Bricco is a beautifully constructed wine from Von Strasser’s highest elevation vineyard, the title of which means “Sunny Hillside,” in Piedmontese. It is one of the pioneer vineyards in the AVA, planted in 1968. For many years, the vineyard was known as Pershing Vineyard and the grapes were sold to Sterling Winery and Stonegate Winery who used them for their Reserve Merlot and Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. In 1998, Lindy Johnson purchased the vineyard. The very talented Tony Mitchell Vineyard Management Company handles all of the farming. TASTING NOTES This complex wine opens with black pepper, eucalyptus and black currant intertwined with earthy notes of mushroom and cedar. The palate shows a touch of cocoa, espresso and brown sugar complete with a lingering finish of cinnamon. Complete with vibrant tannins, this wine can age for up to 20 years.
