Carialoso Monferrato Bianco DOC

This wine is made with 100% Caricalasino, an ancient local variety that Patrizia Marenco rediscovered in Strevi area and reproduced, beginning with 3,000 plants. Also known as Barbassese or white Barbera, the name Caricalasino means “load up the donkey” in Italian, probably due to is highly productive and regular yields. Usually blended with other grapes, Marenco was the first winery in Italy to produce a monovarietal wine. “Carialoso” is the name of the grape in the Piemontese dialect.

Fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 15 days

Aging Process
Six months in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels of 250 l plus 3 months in the bottle before the release

Color: Straw yellow color with greenish reflections
Bouquet: The bouquet on the nose is intense and very elegant, wity unique aromas of camomile, aromatic herbs, cantaloupe and citrus fruits
Flavor: The sip is aromatic, very original, with medium body and a good acidity/minerality balance. Long lasting mineral finish confirming the aromas perceived on the nose
Pairings: Ideal with white meat and elaborated fish recipes
