Batasarro Calabria IGT

This wine is made with 100% Gaglioppo. As with so many “ancient” grape varieties, especially ones that are situated in Southern Italy, there is some notion that Gaglioppo is originally Greek. Gaglioppo is a hardy variety, and is very well adapted to the exceedingly hot and dry conditions that prevail in Calabria. Batasarro is the fantasy name of the parcel of land where the vineyard lie. It is the oldest Gaglioppo vineyard of the estate, planted in 1995.
