This 21 acre single vineyard closest to the Tanaro river. The vines enjoy the heat of the morning sun in the summer and a more fertile soil than vineyards at a higher elevation. This microclimate translates to a Barbaresco with approachable tannins. Pora is best enjoyed in the  first 20 years of its life.

The  first vintage of Pora was produced in 1967.

Vinification
Fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 85°F with maceration on the skins for 28 days; complete malolactic fermentation

Aging Process
36 months in large, oak casks and bottle refined for eight months before release

Bouquet: Ripe, broad red fruit with an earthy character
Flavor: Full-bodied and intense with rich tannins and a long finish
Pairings: Pairs well with fresh egg pastas, risottos, white meats, red meats, venison and cheeses
