Score: 91Vintage 2020Wine EnthusiastDive into a pool of concentrated black cherries and mixed spices as chalky mineral notes add depth to the nose of this heady Barolo. While elegent, yet firm tannins give the wine a sturdy frame the wine's savory finish elevates the wine to the next level Drink 2026 - 2040 — Jeff PorterShelf TalkerFull Page Review
Score: 89Vintage 2020Jeb Dunnuck The 2020 Barolo Cerretta is bright red with a tinge of orange and reveals a more floral and subtle nose of stewed strawberries, melding baking spices, bergamot, and tea leaf. The palate has a more tangy lift of acidity, with a savory feel and a lightly sanguine, iron mineral note that closes on the finish with more clenched tannins. Drink this over the near term while it has some freshness.Shelf TalkerFull Page Review
Score: 92Vintage 2019Wine SpectatorA taut, firmly structured red highlighted by a mix of cherry, plum, eucalyptus, earth and iron flavors. This has all the components in the right places, but remains on the austere side for now. Best from 2027 through 2043. 500 cases made.Shelf TalkerFull Page Review
Score: 93Vintage 2017James SucklingSpices, dried flowers and herbs complement bright notes of cherries and blood oranges on the nose. Compact and lightly chewy, it shows structure and firmness on a medium-bodied, vibrant palate with a bright mineral aftertaste. Attractive now, but better after 2027.Shelf TalkerFull Page Review
Score: 92Vintage 2017Wine SpectatorA supple yet firmly structured red, this exhibits strawberry, cherry, currant, menthol and iron flavors. Taut and dense with tannins, yet remains lithe and long. Best from 2024 through 2040. 500 cases made, 80 cases imported.Shelf TalkerFull Page Review
Score: 92Vintage 2015Wine AdvocateThe Garesio 2015 Barolo Cerretta opens to aromas of dried cherry, camphor ash, candied orange skin and wet terracotta. The Cerretta offers a strong mineral identity with some iron ore or iodine showing up at the back. The tannins are integrated but dry, and the mouthfeel is thin, long and dusty. Like the other Barolo from Garesio with fruit from Serralunga d'Alba (also reviewed here), this wine could use some more primary fruit, especially now in its youth. Dried herbs and aniseed pop up on the finish.Shelf TalkerFull Page Review
Score: 92Vintage 2015Wine EnthusiastThis opens with appealing aromas of rose petal, red berry and baking spice. The vibrant palate offers crushed raspberry, cinnamon and licorice alongside firm, refined tannins. Drink 2022–2029. KERIN O’KEEFEShelf TalkerFull Page Review
Score: 91Vintage 2013Wine EnthusiastEnticing scents of rose, blue flower, vanilla and berry escape the glass. On the palate, firm fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity frame cherry, strawberry and a hint of clove. Drink after 2023.Shelf TalkerFull Page Review
