- Score: 90 Vintage 2018 Vinous Media The 2018 Rosso Saccr lifts from the glass with a burst of white smoke that gives way to minty herbs and blackberries. This is round and supple on the palate, with vibrant acidity motivating its ripe black fruit and mineral tones. It leaves a staining of grippy tannins and notes of salted licorice, as it tapers off potent and with admirable length. The 2018 Saccr, a varietal Sangiovese, will benefit from a short stay in the cellar to blossom aromatically and soften its structural heft. Otherwise, it’s a highly pleasurable effort.
