  • Score: 91 Vintage 2016 Wine Spectator There's a juicy orange peel tang to the flavors of dried cranberry and mulled cherry fruit displayed in this rich red, which is underscored by tarry smoke, dark chocolate and dried sage notes. Not weighty, but there's a pleasing burliness to the light tannins that lend definition to the spiced finish. Drink now through 2029. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 92 Vintage 2015 Vinous The 2015 Gottardi Blauburgunder (Pinot Noir) Riserva is restrained at first yet deeply alluring, as dusty black cherry evolves into notes of crushed raspberry with hints of sage, dried roses and smoky minerals. It’s elegant with ripe dark fruit, even a bit of blueberry, and silky textures, seeming almost sappy at times, yet with a balance of acid and tannins which adds a refreshing quality, as well as a bit of grip toward the close. This almost tips the scales at 14.5%, yet it manages to color within the lines. Gottardi farms vineyards in the Mazzon region at the foot of the Dolomites, with drastic day and night temperature swings and a complex mix of marls, sandstone and limestone soils. • Score: 90 Vintage 2015 Wine Enthusiast This Pinot Noir shows off the warmth of the 2015 vintage with dark cherry, ripe raspberry and cola aromas. After a bit of time in the glass the wine will highlight the more earthy, floral and savory notes. The palate is lush and rich with loads of ripe fruit flavors and dried mushrooms. This wine is firm with oak tannins being very present with a warm and rich finish. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
