  • Score: 93 Vintage 2020 Vinous Media The 2021 Rosso Offida Ludi is remarkably pretty, with a perfumed bouquet of dusty violets, lavender, white smoke and a twist of blood orange and wild blueberries. It’s silky in feel with polished wild berry fruits and chalky minerals. Brisk acidity maintains energy throughout. This finishes spicy and long yet remarkably fresh, balancing youthful structure with a hint of tart cranberry that keeps the mouth watering. Give the 2021 a few years of cellaring for the best effect. Nicely done. The Ludi is a blend of 85% Montepulciano, 7.5% Merlot and 7.5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 92 Vintage 2020 James Suckling Aromas and flavors of sweet black plums with ample vanilla and savory, floral notes. Full-bodied with very fine tannins that are well sunk into the wine, leaving the sweet fruit ample space to flow through the finish. Round, and juicy-fruity. Drink now. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 90 Vintage 2020 Wine Enthusiast A blend of Montepulciano, Cabernet and Merlot, this wine combines the best of each grape. Opening with aromas of plum, blackberry, tobacco, graphite and leather, the concentrated and firm palate amplifies the nose and adds flavors of cassis and savory herbs finishing with polished tannins. Drink now–2035. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 92 Vintage 2019 Vinous Media Dusty and floral, the 2019 Rosso Ludi opens in the glass with a blend of musky black currants, plums, a dusting of cocoa and crushed violets. This is velvety and undeniably elegant with a burst of zesty acidity and citrus-tinged wild berry fruits that excite the senses. The Ludi finishes incredibly long and lightly structured with a staining of primary concentration as hints of blueberry and licorice linger on. This is a beautiful example of Offida Montepulciano, complemented by a dollop of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, along with a deft use of new French oak. Don’t let the heavy weight of the bottle fool you, this is first-class juice. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 91 Vintage 2019 James Suckling Deep, inky color. Slightly heady and jammy with black cherries, oyster sauce, mussels, balsamic fruit, iodine and licorice. Rich, but still fresh with a full-bodied palate rounded by plenty of juicy, fine-grained tannins. Flavorful and fruity. Drink now or hold a year or two. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 93 Vintage 2018 James Suckling Lots of crushed blackcurrants on the nose, together with herbal notes, such as onion-flower, as well as vanilla stick. Full-to medium-bodied with intense fruit and herb flavors and a gentle, fine-tannin build towards a long, firm finish. Needs and other year for better integration, but the prime ingredients are well defined. Best from 2023. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 86 Vintage 2018 Wine Advocate Packaged in an exceptionally heavy and environmentally unfriendly glass bottle, the Velenosi 2018 Offida Rosso Ludi is a blend of Montepulciano, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot that reveals super rich concentration and extraction. It reveals an inky black appearance with bitter tannins, lots of blackberry confit, cinnamon and toasted clove. Oak spice drives this massive wine. It closes with ripe fruit and astringency. The effect is heavy and too oaky. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 90 Vintage 2017 James Suckling Aromas of ripe red and black berries with a touch of forest floor, black cherry and mushroom. Medium-to-full palate with thick, fruit-coated tannins and a lightly spicy finish. A hint of burnt caramel comes through at the end. Montepulciano, cabernet sauvignon and merlot. Drink now. • Score: 92 Vintage 2016 Vinous Media The 2016 Velenosi Offida Rosso Ludi displays an impenetrably dark purple hue in the glass, and offers scents of ripe cherry, blueberry, confectioner’s spice and dried florals. Silky textures are contrasted by tart red and black fruits, minerals and zesty acids, displaying remarkable balance and poise for such a large-scale wine, as savory herbal tones develop toward the close. The finish is long and structured; fine tannins clench the senses with youthful grip and a slight twang of citrus accentuates the inner violet floral tones. This is very well done, a blend of 85% Montepulciano with equal parts of Cabernet and Merlot, aged 18 to 24 months in French oak of various sizes. Shelf Talker Full Page Review

  • Score: 91 Vintage 2015 Wine Advocate This is the estate's top-end blend of Montepulciano (85%), Cabernet Sauvignon (8%) and Merlot (7%). The Velenosi 2015 Offida Rosso Ludi is a wine of considerable brawn and power. It delivers thick texture that wraps heavily over the palate, with the spice, smoke and tobacco of 18 months in new barrique. This is one of those super exuberant vintages in which the primary fruit comes out on top, no matter how much oak the wine sees. Here's your steak-and-potatoes wine from Le Marche. Some 35,000 bottles were released. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
