- Score: 92 Vintage 2019 Vinous Media The 2019 Cabernet Franc Monastero is dark and brooding in the glass, grumbling up with a bouquet of black raspberries and licorice laced with peppery florals and a hint of wet stone. This impresses with its silky textures, but also the tart red berries and bright acidity that contrasts them, as salty minerals and a coating of fine tannin form toward the close. It tapers off with persistence and lightly structured, leaving a primary coating of fruit under an air of sweet inner florals. I’m really enjoying the balance and purity here, but the 2019 Monastero will require a year or two of cellaring to truly shine. This was refined in French oak for fifteen months, which is beautifully integrated here. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
