  • Score: 91 Vintage 2023 James Suckling Aromas of guavas, celery, white blossoms and gooseberry leaves follow through to a simple and refreshing palate. Concise, peary finish of medium length. More about purity than anything else. Drink now. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 91 Vintage 2022 Vinous Media Intense, the 2022 Vette di San Leonardo, a varietal Sauvignon Blanc, explodes from the glass with a spicy blend of grapefruit zest, wild herbs and savory spice. It’s silky in texture with juicy acidity and depths of tart citrus fruit and sour melon tones that add a tart tension toward the close. The 2022 leaves the palate completely refreshed yet finishes long, leaving the cheeks puckered and the taster thirsting for more. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 91 Vintage 2022 James Suckling Good intensity of fresh, ripe gooseberries with a hint of sour cream, green mangoes, grapefruit and stones. Fresh and chalky on the palate with zesty acidity that extends to an elegant finish. Drink now. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 90 Vintage 2022 Wine Spectator A light-bodied white, with chive blossom, grapefruit peel and white pepper notes accenting crunchy white peach and melon fruit. Crackles with racy acidity, which drives the lacy, petrol-lined finish. Drink now through 2026. 8,000 cases made, 1,575 cases imported. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 90 Vintage 2022 Wine Enthusiast This Sauvignon Blanc opens with aromas of yellow peach, fresh herbs and lemon zest. The palate pops with bright acidity followed by tropical fruit, savory spice and a touch of roasted honey flavors that are all supported by a textured palate that evolves as the wine opens. • Score: 92 Vintage 2021 James Suckling This striking Sub-Alpine sauvignon blanc smells like a perfectly ripe pink grapefruit, but also has a slew of fresh-herb and nettle aromas! Juicy and polished on the medium-to full-bodied palate, the very lively acidity making the finish mouthwateringly delightful. Drink or hold. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 91 Vintage 2021 Wine Spectator A sleek, mouthwatering white, with fragrant chive blossom and milled white pepper flavors serving as a subtle thread winding through white peach, pink grapefruit granita and chalk-tinged mineral notes. Drink now through 2025. 8,000 cases made, 1,575 cases imported. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 90 Vintage 2021 Vinous Media Dusty and floral with candied lemon and lime mixed with crushed apple, the 2021 Vette di San Leonardo is a total pleasure on the nose. This flows across the palate with soothingly soft textures nicely contrasted by a reverberation of citrus-tinged acidity and minerals. It finishes with a pleasant inner sweetness offsetting a long salty flourish. The Vette di San Leonardo is a wonderfully refined yet varietally correct Sauvignon. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 91 Vintage 2020 Wine Spectator This finely-meshed white is enlivened by mouthwatering acidity and a minerally underpinning, showing flavors of yellow melon, fresh tarragon, lemon curd and fleur de sel riding the creamy texture and lingering on the finish. Drink now through 2027. 8,000 cases made, 575 cases imported. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 90 Vintage 2020 Vinous Media The 2020 Sauvignon Blanc Vette is intense with its pungent florals and lemon oils, while taking on a hint of gingery spice with time in the glass. This is round yet pure in character, with a core of saline-minerals that nicely contrasts the ripe fruits within. The 2020 showcases amazing energy and a salty-citrus tension that leaves the mouth watering for more. Very nice. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 92 Vintage 2019 James Suckling You could mistake this very elegant sauvignon blanc for a modern-style Loire wine. Plenty of cassis, lemon zest and some dried sage on the subtle, enticing nose. Then, on the tightly focused, dry palate, there’s plenty of herb and mineral character. Long, very crisp finish. Drink or hold. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 90 Vintage 2019 Wine Spectator This creamy, light-bodied white shows classic Sauvignon aromas and flavors of chive blossom, white peach and grapefruit peel, backed by racy acidity and a streak of salty mineral. Drink now. 7,000 cases made, 1,800 cases imported. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 89 Vintage 2019 Wine Advocate From a warm vintage, the 2019 Sauvignon Blanc Vette di San Leonardo is floral and fragrant with decisively tropical themes of green papaya and guava all backed by plenty of yellow rose and honeysuckle. Compared to the 2018 vintage that is a bit thinner, this vintage shows a tad more textural padding and fiber. Fundamentally, the wine remains lean-bodied and tonic, but some of the vintage warmth is transmitted through the fruit. This northern Italian Sauvignon Blanc concludes with a fresh squeeze of citrus or grapefruit. Some 98,000 bottles were made. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 88 Vintage 2019 Vinous Media The 2019 Vette di San Leonardo is a varietal Sauvignon Blanc that bursts from the glass with a gorgeous display of spiced lemon rinds, white spring florals and crushed stone minerality. This gains volume and depth over time, adding a sweetness that keeps you coming back for more. It’s remarkably pure and precise, with laser-like acidity and a tart citrus tension that offsets its pure and lifted character. Don’t expect to put this super-stimulating and energized Sauvignon in the cellar, because it’s firing on all cylinders already. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 92 Vintage 2018 James Suckling Lots of sliced green apples and mouthwatering gooseberries on this one, and not, thankfully, much in the way of pyrazine character. Good body and oiliness on the palate, but it’s also taut and quite vivacious. Drink now. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 90 Vintage 2018 Wine Spectator A subtly perfumed, floral nose of jasmine and chive blossom draws you into the glass of this creamy, light- to medium-bodied white, where mouthwatering acidity and finely knit flavors of nectarine, lemon curd and stone await. Drink now through 2025. 7,000 cases made, 650 cases imported Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 89 Vintage 2018 Vinous Media The 2018 Sauvignon Blanc Vette di San Leonardo is lifted and precise, showing white flowers, lemony citrus and crushed stone. It’s round and soft, complemented by ripe orchard fruits, yet quickly framed by zesty acids, minerals and a tart tug of citrus that lingers. This is wonderful, pure, fresh and mouthwatering, without overemphasizing the grassy notes that Sauvignon Blanc often shows. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 88 Vintage 2018 Wine Advocate The Tenuta San Leonardo 2018 Sauvignon Blanc Vette di San Leonardo (with 98,000 bottles made) is a lightweight and fragrant wine with plenty of varietal purity and focus. It shows a luminous, transparent appearance with aromas of green apple, tropical fruit, peach and almond blossom. It closes with a hint of crushed mineral. The wine's very lean and compact mouthfeel would make a refreshing complement to Thai spring rolls or pad Thai with peanut sauce. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 90 Vintage 2017 Vinous Media Pale straw-yellow. Perfumed nose of herb-accented aromas of green fig, tomato leaf and white flowers is in a pungent New Zealand-like style. Bright floral and white pepper notes add lift to the lively but simple citrus fruit flavors. A subtle herbal nuance lends complexity on the long finish but what this wine is really all about is early juicy appeal. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 90 Vintage 2016 Vinous Media Bright straw yellow. Pungent aromas of poached pear, gooseberry, tarragon, chamomile and sage. Sappy and expansive on the palate, offering lemon curd, green fig and rosemary flavors and a hint of beeswax. Closes on a herbal note, with firm grip and a suggestion of dried citrus fruits, not to mention plenty of richness and verve. Offers solid, easygoing early-drinking pleasure.
