Tenuta La Marsiliana

Italy

Marsiliana in Manciano (GR) is the Principe Corsini estate in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, where we produce wines in a more international style. The history of the Corsini family is intertwined with that of Marsiliana when, in 1759, Prince Corsini obtained the estate with its fortified village from the Grand Duke of Tuscany. Immediately, the Corsini family instigated the modernization and reclamation of the area. At the beginning of the 20th century, Tommaso Corsini, VII Prince of Sismano and Senator of the new Kingdom of Italy, transformed Marsiliana into one of the most innovative farms of that time. Besides widespread mechanization, he employed predominantly exclusive labor in contrast to the prevailing Tuscan sharecropping tradition. Since 1996, the company’s management has been entrusted to Doccio Corsini and his sister Sabina. After extensive ampelographic experimentation to understand which vines could best express the uniqueness of the estate ( 20 hectares of vineyards), Doccio Corsini and his sister Sabrina have decided to plant Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot.
