Doudet-Naudin

Overview
Estate
Doudet-Naudin is a historic Burgundy wine Maison based in Savigny-lès-Beaune. It was founded in 1849 by Albert Brenot and acquired by the Doudet family in 1933. Today, the Maison is headed by Christophe Rochet, who acquired 100% of the company from the Doudet family and is restructuring the business while maintaining its traditional identity. Doudet-Naudin combines wines from its associated Domaine with a selection of négociant wines sourced from Burgundy growers.
Vineyards
The associated Domaine Doudet comprises more than 13 hectares in the northern Côte de Beaune and produces 15 appellations. Its holdings include Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, Corton Grand Cru Les Maréchaudes, and the Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru En Redrescul monopole, alongside Savigny-lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses, Beaune, and Aloxe-Corton. The wider Doudet-Naudin Maison also offers wines from Chablis, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise, Mâconnais, and Beaujolais through its négociant activity.
Cultivation
The vineyards are farmed with controlled yields and environmentally responsible vineyard management. Organic, pesticide-free treatments are reduced to a minimum, and light plowing is used to preserve the balance of the vines and ecosystem. Some parcels are worked entirely by hand or with a horse. The estate's older vines can be approximately 70 years old.
Winery
Doudet-Naudin has been based in its historic buildings in the center of Savigny-lès-Beaune since its foundation. Its cellars include an older section dating to 1820. The Maison follows traditional Burgundian methods: hand harvesting and sorting, destemming, long vatting, manual cap-punching, and pneumatic pressing. The same broad vinification principles are applied to both Domaine wines and purchased grapes, with the aim of expressing the individual appellation and climat. Wines are aged for several months in French oak. Red wines are aged on their lees until bottling, which is carried out without filtration and by gravity.
Family
The Doudet-Naudin name derives from the Doudet family, which acquired the Maison in 1933, after its founding by Albert Brenot in 1849. Christophe Rochet is the current head of Doudet-Naudin.
