Estate
Eleven Eleven Winery is a boutique estate winery in Napa Valley's Oak Knoll District. The project began in 2012 with the acquisition of Laki's Vineyard and Destin Vineyard, followed by the acquisition of the winery property in 2013. Today, the estate includes three principal vineyards in Oak Knoll: Laki's, Destin, and Eleven Eleven Vineyard.
Climate
The estate vineyards are located in the Oak Knoll District, which benefits from cooling influences from the south and warmer conditions from the north. Oak Knoll is a 'Sweet Spot' of Napa Valley because of this balance. At Destin Vineyard, the nearby Napa River contributes cooling effects and diurnal temperature variation, helping retain acidity while allowing full ripening.
Vineyards
Eleven Eleven has three estate vineyards in the Oak Knoll District. Laki's Vineyard was planted in 2000 and is primarily Cabernet Sauvignon. Destin Vineyard comprises 16 acres and has evolved through planting, replanting, and grafting; current plantings include Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Syrah, Merlot, Malbec, Petite Sirah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Eleven Eleven Vineyard was planted in 2014 with 5.7 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc.
Winery
Eleven Eleven specializes in 100% single-vineyard, single-varietal wines. Winemaker Kirk Venge follows a vineyard-first philosophy, with close attention to variety, site, and vintage. The winery also operates a custom-crush facility.
Family
The winery was founded as a partnership venture. Ellie Anest is at the center of the property's entrepreneurial vision and development. The winery's philosophy is built around 'Parea', a Greek concept describing a close group of friends who gather to share experiences, values, and ideas.
Winemaker
Kirk Venge is the consultant winemaker and the principal winemaking figure. He joined Eleven Eleven in 2012 and has worked closely with the estate vineyards since their development. Brett Weis is the Director of Winemaking.
