Mas des Étoiles

Overview

Estate

Mas des Étoiles was founded in 2007 by friends, Arnaud Bladinières and David Liorit, whose partnership began years earlier while studying at the viticultural school of Montagne Saint-Émilion. Located near the “black triangle” of the Causses du Quercy, an area known for some of the purest night skies in France, the estate takes its name from this striking natural environment.

Climate

The area benefits from minimal pollution and a strong connection to the natural world, which reflects the estate’s philosophy of working in alignment with nature.

Soil

The vineyards reflect classic Cahors terroir, with gravel, silica, and clay soils that contribute to structure and freshness. Positioned on the second terrace, the sites benefit from natural drainage, supporting even ripening.

Vineyards

Mas des Étoiles is located in the heart of the Cahors region, with vineyards spread across 15 hectares, including AOP Cahors and IGP Côtes du Lot. The estate includes red varieties, with a smaller portion dedicated to white grapes such as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The vineyards are situated on the second terrace, with soils composed of old alluvial deposits of gravel and silica layered with clay. These conditions contribute to structure, drainage, and aromatic clarity in the wines.

Cultivation

Farming is conducted sustainably, with conversion to organic agriculture initiated in 2019. Vineyard work prioritizes plant health, balanced yields, and careful parcel selection.

Winery

In the cellar, each cuvée is vinified and aged separately, with decisions on temperature, maceration, and élevage tailored to the character of the fruit. Aging takes place in stainless steel, concrete, or a barrel, depending on the wine, with the goal of producing structured, expressive wines that remain true to their origin.

Family

Friends Arnaud Bladinières and David Liorit, after gaining experience across Bordeaux, Burgundy, and Australia, reunited with a shared vision: to create wines that reflect both their technical expertise and a deep respect for nature.

Winemaker

David Liorit brings deep expertise in blending and balance, developed through his work in Saint-Émilion, including Château Beauséjour and Château Petit Val.
