Núria Claverol is a family of premium Cavas exclusive to Sumarroca. The range was created as a tribute to Núria Sumarroca. Its origins date back to 2004, when her children commissioned a distinctive bottle design inspired by ancient Greek amphorae for the first Cava of the range, Homenatge.
Cultivation
The range is built around vineyard identity and terroir expression, with each Cava connected to a specific classified site. The production approach includes organic cultivation, hand harvesting, grape selection, and whole-grape pressing. The individual wines then have different vinification and aging approaches according to their character.
Sustainability
Sumarroca introduced a dedicated 100% sustainable capsule for the high-end Núria Claverol range in 2019. The capsules use water-based inks and bio-based polyethylene derived from sugar cane.
Design
The distinctive Núria Claverol bottle design was inspired by ancient Greek amphorae and won an ADI-FAD design award. The design was created for Homenatge and subsequently became an important visual element of the range.
