Pacher.Huber

Overview
Estate
Pacher.Huber is one of the oldest and most historic estates in the Valle Isarco, with a winemaking tradition deeply rooted in the alpine landscape of Alto Adige. Family-owned and operated by the Huber family, the winery is renowned for producing elegant, mineral-driven white wines that reflect the high-altitude vineyards and the region's unique freshness.
Climate
The Valle d’Isarco enjoys a cool alpine climate marked by warm, sunny days and pronounced day-to-night temperature variation. These conditions allow for slow, balanced ripening, preserving freshness, aromatic intensity, and vibrant acidity in the wines.
Soil
The vineyards of Pacher.Huber are planted in sandy, gravelly soils rich in minerals and perfectly suited to white grape varieties. These well-draining soils contribute to the wines' elegance, precision, and distinctive minerality.
Vineyards
Pacher.Huber’s vineyards are located on the steep slopes surrounding Novacella in the Valle d’Isarco, at elevations exceeding 1,968 feet above sea level. Pacher.Huber focuses primarily on white grape varieties traditionally suited to the Valle d’Isarco, including Sylvaner, Kerner, Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, and Pinot Grigio.
Cultivation
Pacher.Huber practices meticulous mountain viticulture, with vineyards trained primarily in the Guyot system to ensure optimal sun exposure and balanced ripening. Harvest is carried out entirely by hand, usually from late September through October, allowing for careful grape selection and the preservation of freshness and aromatic purity.
Winery
The winery is designed to blend traditional craftsmanship with modern precision, featuring temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks alongside selected oak vessels for aging. Every stage of production is carefully managed to preserve the wines' purity, freshness, and mineral expression.
Family
The Huber family has been dedicated to viticulture in the Valle d’Isarco for generations, preserving a deep connection to the alpine landscape and its winemaking traditions. Today, under Andreas Huber’s guidance, Pacherhof continues to blend family heritage, meticulous vineyard work, and a clear focus on elegant mountain wines.
Winemaker
Andreas Huber leads Pacher.Huber with a philosophy centered on precision, authenticity, and respect for the Valle d’Isarco’s unique alpine terroir. His work focuses on enhancing freshness, minerality, and varietal purity, crafting wines that are elegant, expressive, and deeply connected to their origins.
