Strasserhof

Overview
Estate
Among the oldest vineyards in South Tyrol's Eisacktal, Strasserhof in Neustift bei Vahrn dates its historic walls to the 11th century. This traditional vineyard benefits from its altitude (2,296 feet above sea level), giving it a uniquely sunny position amid idyllic grapevines. The famous Neustift monastery and the bishopric of Brixen are just a few kilometers away.
Climate
The Valle d’Isarco enjoys a cool alpine climate marked by warm, sunny days and pronounced day-to-night temperature variation. These conditions allow for slow, balanced ripening, preserving freshness, aromatic intensity, and vibrant acidity in the wines.
Soil
The vineyards of Strasserhof are planted in sandy, calcareous clay and gravelly soils, typical of the Valle d’Isarco alpine landscape. These well-draining, mineral-rich soils contribute to the wines’ vibrant acidity, pronounced minerality, and refined aromatic precision.
Vineyards
Wine has been produced at Strasserhof by young vintner Hannes Baumgartner since 2003.
Our Eisacktal white wine specialties include Müller Thurgau, Grüner Veltliner, Sylvaner, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Kerner, Sauvignon, and Gewürztraminer. Our 5.5-hectare vineyard at 2,230-2,460 ft altitude benefits from sunny, southwest-facing vines, ages 2-45 years, and light, sandy, gravelly soil, contributing to the elegant, fruity freshness of our wines.
