Rosso di Montalcino DOC

The DOC Rosso di Montalcino was established in 1984 in order to create a younger, more accessible version of Brunello, especially from younger vines or new plantings. This “Baby Brunello” is already well-developed with a strong character and a perfect balance between freshness and structure.

Manual harvest and soft pressing, pre-fermentation at low temperatures in stainless steel. Fermentation in stainless steel using natural yeasts for 16 days at a controlled temperature not exceeding 86°F with frequent pump-overs, punch downs and delestages facilitate the best extraction. Malolactic fermentation in glass-lined cement.

Aging Process
10 months in second- and third-use French oak barriques and Slavonian oak casks, followed by three months in concrete vats. Three months in the bottle before the release.

Tasting Notes
Color: Dark ruby red
Bouquet: The aromas on the nose are fresh and fruity, with some hints of tertiary scents.
Flavor: A firm structure, that shows already great roundness, supports the alcohol content in perfect equilibrium.
Pairings: Perfect with red meat including game, and savory or aged cheese.
