Brancher

Overview
Estate
Brancher is a small family-owned farm. The winery was built beside the grandfather’s house.
Climate
The climate has changed considerably in recent years. Summers are extremely hot with violent storms, and winters tend to be mild.
Soil
In the high hills, fragmented limestone is prevalent, while clay soils predominate on the valley floor.
Vineyards
Brancher had 29 acres of vineyards divided into many small plots on the hills of the Valdobbiadene DOCG Prosecco and Prosecco DOC Treviso region. The varieties grown include Glera, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, and Pinot Nero.
Cultivation
Given the steep hills, all vineyard activities, including harvesting, are performed manually.
Winery
The older section houses the bottling and packaging facilities, as well as the packaged wine warehouse. The newer section features the pressing area, storage of bulk wine in stainless steel tanks, and autoclaves used for sparkling wine production.
Family
The father was a farmer who cultivated the “rive” and had a small stable. His sons, Francesco and Sergio gradually expanded the vineyards, first starting to make wine and then sparkling wine and bottling it. Sergio’s sons, Cristian and Filippo, later joined the business and now manage the vineyards. Sergio’s partner, Roberta, runs the office and assists with bottling.
Winemaker
Mariano Pancot, an external oenologist, has refined his extensive knowledge of Prosecco throughout his long career, developing technical and sensory skills that now adds unique value to our winery.
