Tenuta La Marsiliana

Overview
Estate
La Marsiliana is the historic Maremma estate of the Principe Corsini family, located near Manciano in southern Tuscany. Spanning more than 1,500 hectares, the property combines vineyards, olive groves, cereal crops, and natural Mediterranean landscapes, making it one of the largest agricultural estates in the region.
Climate
The estate benefits from a warm Mediterranean climate, strongly influenced by its proximity to the Tyrrhenian Sea. Constant coastal breezes, abundant sunlight, and long growing seasons favor complete ripening while maintaining balance and aromatic complexity.
Soil
Predominantly sandstone, clay, and marine sedimentary soils of ancient coastal origin. These well-drained formations provide structure, mineral character, and excellent conditions for both Sangiovese and Bordeaux varieties.
Vineyards
Approximately 30 hectares of vineyards are planted between 492 and 948 feet a.s.l. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot play a central role alongside Sangiovese, reflecting the estate’s ambition to unite the Maremma terroir with international varieties.
Cultivation
Viticulture follows sustainable farming principles, including careful canopy management, yield control, and parcel selection. Vineyard practices are designed to preserve the biodiversity of the wider agricultural estate.
Winery
The winery combines modern vinification technology with meticulous parcel-by-parcel management. Fermentation and aging protocols are tailored to each vineyard block, supporting the production of structured, long-lived wines.
Family
Owned by the Corsini family, one of Florence’s oldest noble families. The estate is part of a broader agricultural vision that also includes Villa Le Corti in Chianti Classico, linking two of Tuscany’s most important wine regions.
Winemaker
The technical team works closely with the Corsini family to express Maremma's distinctive identity through both indigenous and international grape varieties, balancing concentration, elegance, and aging potential.
