Sardinia At a Glance
Region NameSardinia
Sardinia is the second-largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. in Sardinia wine is much less culturally and historically engrained there than in the mainland regions, and wine production and consumption on any scale has developed only in the past few centuries.
Score: 93Vintage 2019VinousThe 2019 Cannonau Antiggu Riserva seduces with a dusting of Christmas spice and cocoa, evolving into confectionary strawberry and cherry tones. It’s round, supple and more savory than anticipated, with a wild blueberry concentration as fine-grained tannins slowly mount toward the close. This finishes with amazing length, poise and hints of dark chocolate. The 2019 is structured and saturating while leaving a pleasantly chewy sensation. I recommend a short decant to allow the aromatics to blossom.Shelf TalkerFull Page Review
