  • Score: 95 Vintage 2022 Jeb Dunnuck Pouring a slightly deeper ruby hue while remaining transparent, the 2022 Barolo Bussia reveals aromas of preserved strawberries, suede, sweet tobacco, and delicate balsamic notes. Medium-bodied, it expands across the palate with greater richness and depth to its tannin structure while retaining elegance and freshness. It’s one of the more structured wines in the range. • Score: 93 Vintage 2022 Kerin O`Keefe The Luigi Einaudi initially has a shy nose that eventually reveals balsamic notes of camphor that mingle with leather, forest floor, violet and dark culinary spice. On the bold, full-bodied palate, velvety, close-grained tannins support black cherry extract, licorice and vanilla before closing on a mentholated note. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 93 Vintage 2022 James Suckling Cherries, incense and jasmine, with rose-petal character. The medium- to full-bodied palate is delineated by ethereal red fruit, energy and discreet length, supported by moderate, precise and chalky tannins. Drink or hold. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 90 Vintage 2022 Vinous Media The 2022 Barolo Bussia is a very pretty, open-knit wine. It is the most accessible of these Barolos and the only wine that truly shows vintage-2022 character in its slightly diffuse color, soft mid-palate and modest structure. The Bussia is a very good wine, especially for the year. The only problem it has is the superb quality of the other Barolos that surround it in this range! Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 95 Vintage 2021 Kerin O Keefe The 2021 Bussia from Einaudi has intense balsamic aromas of camphor that mingle with mature red berry, underbrush and dark spice. Full-bodied and powerfully built, the palate delivers ripe Morello cherry, spiced raspberry, licorice and tobacco set against a firm, tannic backbone and fresh acidity. Give this time to fully come together. Drink 2031–2041. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 95 Vintage 2021 The Wine Advocate The mid-weight Poderi Luigi Einaudi 2021 Barolo Bussia is a little shy on first nose and will need more time in bottle. This is a good sign for the wine's future aging potential. You get a glimpse of the aromatic complexity on hand with delicate berry fruit tones, cinnamon and licorice root. There is an elegant earthy intensity that I often associate with the Bussia cru. Only 8,146 bottles were created. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 94 Vintage 2021 Wine Enthusiast Rich fruit and savory notes fill the air while mineral undertones keep drawing you deeper. The palate moves with scholarly confidence, each sip revealing another layer of complexity. A wine that knows exactly what it wants to say and takes its time saying it beautifully. • Score: 94 Vintage 2021 Jeb Dunnuck Tasted after the Villero, the 2021 Barolo Bussia is a bright medium ruby color and has a touch more seductive and floral depth on the nose, with notes of raspberry liqueur, fresh rosemary, pressed flowers, mossy earth, and sweet leather. It fills the palate with a more rounded, weightless, and expansive feel, medium to full-bodied richness, ripe tannins that take on a little more plushness, and even acidity. It will gain depth and develop more notes of black truffle as it ages. Drink over the coming 15 or more years. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 94 Vintage 2021 Vinous The 2021 Barolo Bussia is a gorgeous, expressive Barolo. All the breadth of Bussia comes through in the glass, with the more laid-back, mid-weight style that is now the house signature. Deeply spiced notes meld into a core of dark red fruit. Lifted and aromatic, with understated power, the 2021 is wonderfully complex and dynamic. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 94 Vintage 2021 Wine Spectator A bright and well-delineated version, offering cherry, raspberry, floral, iron and wild herb aromas and flavors. Supple, beautifully balanced and long on the extended, linear finish. This red is open now; however, don't be surprised if this closes down for some time. Best from 2028 through 2046. 722 cases made, 100 cases imported Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 93 Vintage 2021 James Suckling Graceful style due to the aromas and bony structure. Tea leaves, bergamot, cinnamon, fresh violets and dried cherries. Firm tannins with a ripe texture, refreshing acidity and medium to full body. Edgier finish. Try from 2027. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 95 Vintage 2020 Vinous Media The 2020 Barolo Bussia is one of the most impressive wines in this range from Einaudi. Ample and explosive on the palate, with striking depth, the Bussia has a level of complexity that is not found in the other wines. Strong spice and balsamic inflections weave through a core of fruit in this resonant, wonderfully expressive Barolo. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 94 Vintage 2020 Wine Advocate Showing ripe strawberry aromas with dark, tarry notes at the back, the Poderi Luigi Einaudi 2020 Barolo Bussia is a full-bodied Barolo with savory tobacco leaf, crushed rose, toasted spice and ferrous earthy sensations. The tannins are dry, and the wine show dark austerity. This is a more robust production of 10,706 bottles. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 93 Vintage 2020 Wine Spectator There is considerable heft to this red, along with bright cherry and raspberry fruit. Reveals tar, iron and eucalyptus notes as this extends on the long aftertaste. Shows energy and balance; just needs time. Best from 2027 through 2043. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 93 Vintage 2020 James Suckling Notes of red plums and cherries with hints of blue flowers, ground cloves and bark. Medium- to full-bodied with fine, velvety tannins rounding your palate. Dry and juicy with some austerity at the end. Chalky and mineral. Try after 2028. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 93 Vintage 2020 Wine Enthusiast Crushed red fruits, orange peel, and a captivating Aperol-like note mingle with floral hints. The palate is pretty, boasting ample fruits without being overwrought. Tasty, mouthwatering, and well-centered, this wine offers good density and a lot of character without being in your face.
