Puglia At a Glance
Region NamePuglia
Most Puglia wine is red, full-bodied, and will pair well with a wide variety of foods. Producers in Puglia have focused on making great red wines, and local grapes like Negroamaro, Primitivo, and Bombino Nero make for delicious drinking. Some of the best values in Italian wine come from this sunny, dry region.
Score: 90Vintage 2023VinousA whiff of vanilla bean and white flowers gives way to yellow apple and pear as the 2023 Chardonnay Teresa Manara blossoms in the glass. Soothingly rich and pliant, it washes across the palate with an array of ripe orchard fruits and sweet spices, as hints of sour citrus add tension toward the close. An air of custard lingers as brisk acidity puckers the cheeks, leaving the palate refreshed. There’s a lovely integration of oak here, but I crave more complexity.Shelf TalkerFull Page Review
