- Score: 91 Vintage 2022 The Wine Advocate The organic entry-level Gagliole 2022 Chianti Classico Rubiolo is fresh and bright with plenty of red and purple fruits. These accessible expressions of Sangiovese are taking on a life of their own in this storied appellation, as a strong fanbase continues to appreciate fruit-forward, food-friendly reds. Indeed, this has always been Tuscany's strong suit, and it's nice to see high-level producers like Gagliole do such a good job with a wine that is fundamentally so straightforward. The 2022 vintage offers just a touch more softness and textural richness with pretty mineral notes. Production is 33,000 bottles. Shelf Talker Full Page Review

The wine is all Sangiovese sourced from three sites in Castellina, Panzano and Badia a Passignano. The wine delivers a dark ruby color, and although the aromatic intensity is measured, there are delicately perfumed tones of cherry, raspberry and blood orange that feel punchy and bright. You also get pretty floral tones. Shelf Talker Full Page Review

- Score: 90 Vintage 2018 Wine Advocate One of the best value wines in Tuscany, the 2018 Chianti Classico Rubiolo is a lovely Sangiovese with most of its fruit sourced from the estate's Panzano property and some from Castellina. In fact, this is one of a handful of wineries in the appellation that purposefully blends fruit from different townships. The wine is delicate and fresh with plenty of wild cherry and blue ower. It falls lightly onto the palate with silky, featherweight intensity. I would enjoy it with a porcini sauce on pasta Shelf Talker Full Page Review

- Score: 92 Vintage 2017 James Suckling This has lovely dark plums, fresh herbs and violets. On the palate it’s tightly knit and elegant with a firm row of tannins, running through layers of pretty berries. Drink from 2020. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
- Score: 90 Vintage 2017 Wine Advocate The 2017 Chianti Classico Rubiolo (100% Sangiovese) shows a delicately spicy side to the bouquet with cherry and blackberry that is nicely ripened but not overripe. This is an extremely balanced and precise wine. I can't image that these results were easy to achieve given the harsh, hot and dry conditions of the growing season. The finish is soft and velvety. Pair this with a rabbit dish. With 47,000 bottles made, you get fantastic value here. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
- Score: 89 Vintage 2017 Vinous Media The 2017 Chianti Classico Rubiolo is plump, juicy and absolutely delicious. All of the richness and radiance of the year comes through in a supple, forward Chianti Classico that will drink well right out of the gate. Sweet red berries, flowers and a touch of spice add to the wine's racy personality. The Rubiolo is a blend of fruit from estate vineyards in both Castellina and Panzano. It was fermented in steel and aged in a combination of cask, neutral small barrels and cement. Best of all, the 2017 is a superb value. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
- Score: 91 Vintage 2016 Wine and Spirits Rubiolo offers succulent red-cherry flavors framed by raspy sangiovese tannins. The wine aged in a mix of used barriques, large oak vats and stainless-steel tanks that preserved the freshness of the fruit and its lively floral scents. An excellent value, it’s a versatile wine that will satisfy with or without food. Shelf Talker Full Page Review

- Score: 90 Vintage 2016 Vinous Media Gagliole's 2016 Chianti Classico Rubiolo is a flat-out stunner. Deep, resonant and beautifully layered in the glass, the 2016 is an absolute knockout. Cloves, cinnamon, lavender and wild dark cherry are pushed forward, but it is the wine's exceptional balance that truly elevates it. Floral overtones add the closing flourishes. This is a gorgeous wine and a tremendous value to boot. Fruit sources are Castellina and Panzano, with the breadth and richness of Panzano very much in evidence. The 2016 spent seven months in used French oak barrels, as opposed to the more typical 12 months or so. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
