Ribolla Gialla Venezia Giulia IGT
Friuli Venezia Giulia

The origin of this grape is uncertain: experts identify the ancestor of Ribolla with “Avola”, a vine imported by the Romans during the occupation of Friuli. Others suggest that this grape coincides with “Robola”, a variety grown in Kefalonia, arriving in Friuli perhaps at the time of Venetians. The early records date back to the 12th century: at that time the local population appreciated the elegant and fine wines of “Rabiola” Collio.
