Nuraghe Crabioni

Overview
Estate
Nuraghe Crabioni is a winery in Romangia, in northwestern Sardinia, near the Gulf of Asinara. Set amid Mediterranean landscapes and sea breezes, the estate was created to enhance the natural richness and winemaking traditions of this unique Sardinian territory.
Climate
The vineyards benefit from a Mediterranean climate marked by abundant sunshine, consistent maritime ventilation, mild winters, and dry summers. Proximity to the sea helps preserve freshness, aromatic intensity, and balance in the grapes.
Soil
The soils of our vineyards are mostly clayey, with calcareous and sandy components.
Vineyards
The estate spans gently rolling hills overlooking the sea, with about 20 hectares dedicated to viticulture. The vineyards are planted primarily with traditional Sardinian grape varieties, including Vermentino, Cannonau, Moscato, and Cagnulari.
Cultivation
The vineyards are trained as espaliers using Guyot or spurred cordon pruning. Harvesting is manual from August/September to October. Grapes are picked in small crates and processed quickly in the nearby cellar, ensuring freshness and respect for the raw material with modern technology.
Winery
The winery uses modern technology, with a capacity of about 1,300 hectoliters in temperature-controlled steel tanks. Computerized systems monitor temperatures and times to ensure quality. The winery's environmentally friendly practices include energy-saving tech, renewable energy production for energy independence, and vine cultivation with integrated pest management to reduce chemical use.
Family
The Seghene family preserves and promotes the identity of local grape varieties and the authentic Mediterranean character of northwestern Sardinia, combining a passion for the land with a modern vision of Sardinian winemaking.
Winemaker
Gianni Gasperi and Mauro Murgia oversee the winery’s technical philosophy, emphasizing freshness, balance, and territorial expression. Their work blends modern winemaking precision with deep respect for Sardinian native varieties, enhancing the Mediterranean character, salinity, and authenticity of Nuraghe Crabioni wines.
