Velenosi

Overview

Estate

Velenosi is a family-owned winery founded in 1984 in Ascoli Piceno, in the heart of the Marche region. Over the years, the estate has become one of the leading ambassadors for Marche wines, blending local tradition with a modern winemaking vision.

Climate

The vineyards benefit from a balanced climate influenced by both the Adriatic Sea and the Sibillini Mountains, with warm, sunny days, cool nights, and consistent ventilation that favor slow, even grape ripening.

Soil

The soils are primarily clay and limestone with sandy components, providing excellent drainage and contributing to the wines’ freshness, structure, and aromatic intensity.

Vineyards

The estate vineyards lie between the hills of Ascoli Piceno and Ancona and are planted with both indigenous and international grape varieties, including Pecorino, Passerina, Verdicchio, Montepulciano, and Sangiovese.

Cultivation

Careful vineyard management focused on sustainability, low yields, manual harvesting, and precise grape selection to preserve varietal identity and fruit quality.

Winery

Modern winery equipped with advanced vinification technology and traditional aging methods, designed to enhance the elegance, purity, and territorial expression of every wine.

Family

Founded by Angela Velenosi, the winery remains deeply committed to family values, a passion for the territory, and the promotion of Marche wine culture worldwide. Today, her children, Marianna and Matteo, continue the path she began, bringing a new generation’s vision while preserving the estate’s identity and traditions.

Winemaker

The winemaking team, composed of Attilio Pagli, Matteo Velenosi and Filippo Carli, works with a philosophy centered on balance, elegance, and the authentic expression of the Marche region.

Focus Point

• One of the Marche region's leading wineries. • Strong focus on indigenous grape varieties. • Balance of innovation and regional tradition. • Vineyards influenced by both the sea and the mountains. • Elegant wines with freshness, structure, and Mediterranean character. • Women-led winery.
