Score: 96Vintage 2023The Wine Advocate With a history spanning more than 30 vintages, the Tua Rita 2023 Giusto di Notri is composed predominantly of Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller portions of Cabernet Franc and Merlot and remains one of the estate’s defining wines. The 2023 vintage benefited from relatively cool soils thanks to rain showers that preserved fresh acidity. The style emphasizes verticality and finesse, achieved through an infusion-like approach during fermentation in which berries are gently broken to increase skin contact without aggressive extraction, taking advantage of naturally soft skins. Pump-overs were limited to one or two per day, prioritizing delicacy over power. The result is a refined and expressive wine with lifted freshness and a graceful character.Shelf TalkerFull Page Review
Score: 95Vintage 2023James SucklingA juicy and savory red with aromas of blackcurrants, fresh sage and rosemary. It’s medium- to full-bodied with creamy tannins and a long and beautiful finish. Shows finesse and polish. 80% cabernet sauvignon, 10% merlot and 10% cabernet franc. Needs two or three years to soften, but is already very pretty. Sustainable. Drink or hold.Shelf TalkerFull Page Review
Score: 94Vintage 2023VinousThe 2023 Giusto di Notri is one of the more refined wines of the vintage at Tua Rita. A burst of dark red/purplish fruit, new leather, rose petal, cedar and mocha makes a strong first impression. Silky tannins wrap it all together in style.Shelf TalkerFull Page Review
Score: 96Vintage 2022Wine EnthusiastCracked black pepper and tart black fruit make for a nose that' fresh and cool. Blackberry preserves and dark chocolate enrich the palate that nonetheless stays incredibly fresh with wild mint, wild fennel, crushed rocks, saline, and minerals. Beautifully executed. Score: 96Vintage 2022James SucklingPlenty of berry and chocolate fruit with some subtle hazelnut and spice undertones. Dried flowers, too. Medium-bodied with a pretty core of fruit and a savory, succulent finish. Herbs with chocolate at the end. Solid center-palate. 80% cabernet sauvignon, 10% merlot and 10% cabernet franc. Needs three or four years to mellow, but it’s already very attractive. Drink after 2027.Shelf TalkerFull Page Review
Score: 95Vintage 2022VinousThe 2022 Giusto di Notri is a total extrovert. Super-ripe red cherry, plum, blood orange, cedar and pipe tobacco all race across the palate. The 2022 can be enjoyed now, but it will be better in a few years' time once some of the baby fat melts away.Shelf TalkerFull Page Review
Score: 95Vintage 2022The Wine Advocate This is a blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller parts Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The Tua Rita 2022 Giusto di Notri reveals an especially creamy and rounded texture that adds to a lovely and long-lasting mouthfeel. There is nothing heavy about the wine, and indeed, this vintage actually feels more streamlined and even a tad shorter compared to other hot-vintage releases of the past. The wine's appearance is inky dark, and the bouquet shows layers of dark fruit, blackberry, spice and sweet earth.Shelf TalkerFull Page Review
Score: 96Vintage 2021The Wine Advocate Here’s a wine that takes us to a vintage that excels in terms of general fruit clarity and precision. The 2021 Giusto di Notri is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot that ages in new oak (50% of the wine) with the other half going into second- and third-passage barrel. Intensity and depth are highlighted nicely here in a vintage that ended on October 16th (much later than 2020). This benefits complexity and aromas. The vintage also delivers more freshness and balanced tannins (without the sharper edges you get in 2020). This is a beautiful wine, one that's set up for long cellar aging.Shelf TalkerFull Page Review
Score: 96Vintage 2021James SucklingIntense aromas of red currants, sweet tobacco, lead pencil, and terra-cotta. Medium to full body with polished tannins that are very well-integrated into the wine. It is racy and long with lovely mocha and subtle fruit at the end. 80% cabernet sauvignon, 10% cabernet franc and 10% merlot. Drink after 2028.Shelf TalkerFull Page Review
Score: 94Vintage 2021Wine SpectatorBlack currant, blackberry, plum, violet, green olive, graphite and wild rosemary aromas and flavors are the hallmarks of this impressive red, which is lively and refreshing, with dense tannins gripping the long, oak-tinged finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2026 through 2038. 3,333 cases made, 500 cases imported. Shelf TalkerFull Page Review
Score: 96Vintage 2020The Wine Advocate A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc and 8% Merlot, the 2020 Giusto di Notri is a ripe, bold and generous wine. The DNA of the wine has changed slightly over the years to favor the Cabernet Franc (with an increased percentage) over the Merlot, which has fallen from a previous high of about 35% to 40% of the blend a decade ago. What I like about this wine is that it manages an elegant, almost understated interpretation of a hot and dry vintage. The tannins are especially well managed in this situation. In 2020, Tua Rita's harvest was finished by October 6th.Shelf TalkerFull Page Review
