Region Name Piedmont

Piemonte is considered by many the top wine region of Italy, being the land of Barolo and Barbaresco, even though these mega-popular wines only account for 3% of the region’s wine production.

  • Score: 91 Vintage NV Vinous Media The NV Brut Roverello is perfumed with dried flowers, ground ginger, curry leaf and hints of lime zest. This is savory on the palate, with an elegant stream of bubbles and a bittersweet mix of nectarine and spice. It finishes with spicy potency and hints of sour citrus that pucker the cheeks. The Roverello Brut is full of character and punches well above its price point. This is a varietal Cortese di Gavi. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 90 Vintage NV James Suckling This is fresh and fruity with crunchy apples, lemon peel and flowers on the nose. Medium-bodied with fine bubbles. Clean and crispy with a flavorful finish. Drink now. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
  • Score: 89 Vintage NV Vinous Media The NV Gavi Brut La Meirana opens with a delicate display of fresh apples, incense and nuances of dried peaches. It’s silky in texture with a tropical feel to the sour citrus fruits and exotic spices within. Residual acids slowly fizzle out through the finale, leaving hints of grapefruit and green sour patch candies through the finale. Someting to note is that this was submitted as a 2018 vintage wine, yet I see no identifying marks or lot numbers on the bottle. Shelf Talker Full Page Review
