Sicily At a Glance
Region NameSicily
Sicily is Italy’s southernmost region and the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. For more than 2500 years, Sicily (Sicilia in Italian) has been a significant center of Mediterranean viniculture, although the reputation and style of its wines have changed significantly over that time.
Score: 86Vintage 2022Wine AdvocateFrom the Aeolian Islands with volcanic soils, this is a blend of equal parts Nerello Mascalese and Corinto Nero. The Cantine Colosi 2022 Rosato opens to an electric pink color with a psychedelic purple haze. The wine's color is the big take-away. The bouquet is neutral with wild berry and a hint of cherry color or balsam herb. The mouthfeel has a touch of sweetness but is otherwise not too heavy. It's all middle of the road, save for the wine's striking appearance.Shelf TalkerFull Page Review
