Garesio

Overview
Estate
Along with searching for vineyards, the Garesio family recently redeveloped an ancient farmhouse in Serralunga d'Alba into a refined, charming complex. Starting in 2010, they acquired about 20 hectares of land in Serralunga d'Alba, Incisa Scapaccino, Castelnuovo Calcea, and Perletto. They also transformed the farmhouse into an elegant complex.
Climate
The vineyards benefit from a cool continental climate shaped by mountain currents and nearby maritime breezes. Warm days and cool nights allow for slow grape ripening while preserving freshness, aromatic precision, and acidity.
Soil
The soils are primarily calcareous, with marl and clay components typical of Alta Langa, contributing minerality, structure, finesse, and depth to the wines.
Vineyards
The vineyards span high-altitude hillside parcels with excellent sun exposure and natural ventilation. The estate focuses on native varieties such as Dolcetto and Nebbiolo, alongside Pinot Nero and Chardonnay, which are dedicated to Alta Langa sparkling wines.
Cultivation
Winemaking choices recognize local grape varieties, emphasizing crus, terroirs, and each variety's unique traits. Vineyard operations follow a minimal-intervention approach, with interventions only when necessary, row by row.
Winery
Vinification uses traditional methods with the best technology to preserve varietal purity without overdoing it. Each vintage's unique value and character guide us to adapt vinification, highlighting its qualities. Wood use is measured, favoring large and medium barrels, tonneaux, and Austrian oak casks. For flagship wines, we use Stockinger barrels—Austrian oak aged at least seven years to refine and soften Serralunga Barolos.
Family
In 2010, the Garesio family acquired the first hectare and a half of Barbera vines in Incisa Scapaccino, located just a few kilometers from Nizza Monferrato. Giovanna Garesio, the winery's core, is a young entrepreneur whose passion for wine extends worldwide.
Winemaker
The winery’s technical philosophy emphasizes freshness, elegance, and territorial expression, enhancing both native grape varieties and the refined character of Alta Langa wines.
