Le Salette

Overview

Estate

Le Salette is a historic, family-owned winery in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, Veneto. Deeply connected to the territory and its traditions, the estate is dedicated to producing authentic wines that express Valpolicella's identity with elegance, balance, and craftsmanship.

Climate

The area enjoys a mild continental climate strongly influenced by Lake Garda and the Lessini Mountains. Warm, sunny days and cool evenings create ideal temperature variations that promote slow grape ripening, aromatic complexity, and freshness.

Soil

The soils are primarily calcareous and clay-based, with significant mineral content and excellent drainage. These characteristics contribute to wines with structure, finesse, and a strong sense of place.

Vineyards

The vineyards are spread throughout the hills of Valpolicella Classica. The estate cultivates traditional native varieties, including Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Molinara, and carefully selects vineyard parcels best suited for Amarone and Ripasso production.

Cultivation

Viticulture is managed with sustainable practices and deep respect for the vineyards' natural balance. Vineyard work and harvesting are largely done by hand, especially on steep hillside sites, allowing meticulous grape selection and preserving quality.

Winery

The winery combines traditional Valpolicella winemaking methods with modern precision. Particular attention is paid to the appassimento process for Amarone and Recioto production, with carefully controlled drying rooms and aging programs designed to preserve elegance and complexity.

Family

Le Salette is managed by the Scamperle family, which has produced wine in Valpolicella for generations. The family's philosophy centers on maintaining a strong connection to the land while continuously improving quality and preserving local traditions.

Winemaker

Franco Scamperle embodies the estate's historic soul and technical vision. Deeply connected to the Valpolicella territory and its traditions, he has spent decades refining wines that combine elegance, balance, and authenticity while enhancing the expression of native grape varieties.

Focus Point

• Historic, family-owned winery in Valpolicella Classica. • Strong focus on Amarone and traditional Valpolicella wines. • Sustainable vineyard management. • Manual vineyard work and grape selection.
