‘Senza Rete’ is Italian for ‘without a safety net’. It is a homage to traditional Tuscan winemaking by Maurizio Castelli – Italian wine Maestro. The values Senza Rete embodies are more about WITHOUTs than WITHs. Its name has a classic circus legacy and shows that, like the best acrobats, nature always finds its balance without the need for any ‘safety net’.

Climate

Vintage 1984, Gabriele Gorelli MW is one of Italy’s most respected wine experts. Born and raised in Montalcino, Tuscany, he became the first Italian Master of Wine in February 2021. His passion for wine was sparked by his paternal grandfather, who was once the smallest producer of Brunello di Montalcino.

Soil

Originally from Milan, Maurizio Castelli graduated in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Milan in 1972. Since then, he has lived and worked in Tuscany. He devotes significant effort to rediscovering and clonally selecting Tuscan varieties. Senza Rete is a project that draws on five decades of expertise in Tuscan winemaking.
